The Best of Kota Kinabalu City and Surrounding Areas Guide booklet is the official Sabah Tourism Board’s brochures for the city of Kota Kinabalu, the State Capital of Sabah, Malaysia. In the year 2013, John was commissioned by Sabah Tourism Board to develop this 80 pages brochure which measures 16 cm x 18 cm. This booklet is distributed at all Sabah Tourism Board’s tourism information centres as well as international travel roadshows. The objective of this brochure is to promote the vibrant city of Kota Kinabalu to the world and to provide detailed information of other activities and places of interest in the surrounding the city that are available. The Best of Kinabalu Park Guide booklet is the official Sabah Tourism Board’s brochures for Kinabalu Park first published in September 2014. John was commissioned by Sabah Tourism Board to develop this 60 pages brochure which measures 18 cm x18 cm. This booklet is distributed at all Sabah Tourism Board’s tourism information centres as well as international travel roadshows. The objective of this brochure is to give potential visitors a different perspective of Kinabalu Park and to provide detailed information of other activities and places of interest that are available. Nicely illustrated trail maps were also developed to provide more information to tourist to the park. John headed the content development, photography and creative artwork of the project. A Photographic Journey through Kinabalu Park, Malaysia’s First World Heritage Site
THE BOOK
One who is passionate about nature, John’s latest work is an A5 size pictorial coffee table book titled “BEST OF KINABALU PARK – A Photographic Journey through Kinabalu Park”. The book’s main purpose is to promote Sabah’s first heritage site in Malaysia, Kinabalu Park, and will contain 160 fully colour pages that reveal the beauty of Mount Kinabalu as seen through the eyes of an adventurer, and intrepid traveller and a nature lover.
After 5 years of photographing Kinabalu Park, John takes us on a journey into a world of pure and untainted land filled with panoramic and scenic view of Kinabalu Park through his compilation of photographs. He has scaled Mt. Kinabalu several times and the other 2 highest peaks in Malaysia, Mt. Trusmadi, the 2nd highest at 2,642 M and Mt. Tambuyukon, the 3rd highest at 2,579 M to capture stunning panoramic images of Mt. Kinabalu from the peaks of the other 2 mountains.
Each photograph in this brilliantly illustrated booklet tells a unique story of rivers, rainforest, flora and fauna that has earned Kinabalu Park the recognition as a world heritage site. Besides giving a valuable opportunity for the world to have a glimpse of this beautiful park, the coffee table book will also provide practical information on the park’s facilities, trail maps along with travel advices for those who wish to experience the park itself. This condensed version of a pictorial guide and travel book will also make a perfect souvenir or gift to tell your friends about the beauty of Kinabalu Park and Sabah, The Land Below the Wind.
Printed on 100% FSC recycled paper, the Best of Kinabalu Park book retails at RM69.90 per copy and are available at Borneo Images Gallery, MPH and Times bookstores Malaysia wide, selected number of souvenir shops, bookstores and airports.

Besides the book, Best of Kinabalu Park series are also available in postcards and A3 Posters. 10 beautiful photographs of Kinabalu Park are available in poster format which retails at RM12.00 each. A set of 10 postcards are also available which retails at RM16.00 per set.
